-11 degrees this morning. There is a fog moving across open water and steam is coming out of the ice volcanoes on the ice ridge. My birds are fighting over the suet and gobbling up the sunflower seeds trying to get some energy to keep their little bodies from freezing. The yard is full of animal tracks from different animals out looking for food. The house is a cozy 75 degrees and the heat from the wood stove is much appreciated. The dog sled races are today. We were going to go watch but I don't know if I want to stand out in this cold. The work we did hauling, moving and stacking our wood is paying off now in this bitter cold.
