Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for. My niece and her family have a healthy newborn son. He is the fourth of four boys. His brothers are so proud to have another brother but a little girl would be welcomed with the same joy. My kids, we were all together but Becca and Sara stayed home to watch the pets and have a great dinner with their friends. Becca is a great cook and Sarah taste tests and so I know the meal was a success. It was so nice to see everyone and the grandkids are growing by leaps and bounds. I always cry when they leave. I do, but it is tears that I feel for the times when my kids were little. Those were the best time of our lives. When you are so busy you don't realize how empty it is when they are gone. We are proud of the men and woman they have become and our kids by marriage and the best. So lucky are we to have them all. We are blessed. Thank you! Tessa, we are so proud of you and all you have accomplished. We can see why Mike loves you and so do we. See you all at Christmas!!

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Sarah is eighteen years old today. She is in her Senior year at school and this year is going to be a big one for her. She is a very pretty young woman and is as smart as she is beautiful. She has good sense and will do well. She is one of our treasures and we love her very much. Enjoy your Senior year, it will go by fast. Happy Birthday Pierce!

I know this is a late post but here it is. Pierce turned 14 this year. He is starting the hard years of a young person. So many things going on, trying to navigate the road to being a young adult and still at times feeling like a kid. He has been such a help to Dennis and I. Terese and Pierce have been very good to the younger kids. I hope this year brings him new friends and he enjoys his venture into High School. We are proud of you Pierce. You are very smart and you will do well. You are one of our treasures and are are tucked in with all the others. Love you!

Rock Hounds

Today we went to the North Shore. We found lots of great rock, cool breezes and waves to jump in. We had a lot of fun. We also went by the ladies home--they are both deceased and it looks so lonely and deserted. We also saw these trees of wine bottles at a new home build. I thought they looked good. Ann would like them. Save us those brightly colored wine bottles and we can make some. Have a day as good as ours!

Happy Birthday Terese Rose!

Today Terese is 13. Where did the time go? She is a smart, pretty young woman. I enjoy talking with her. She is a lot of help to me and looks after Miranda. Grandpa and I are happy they spend time with us. Happy Birthday Terese--you are treasured by all of us. Terrie brought the boys over and they all had fun in the pool. Her boys are getting big and I know they will be a big help with the baby. Time for cake and ice cream when they get out of the pool. Good day!

Happy Birthday Ann!

Today is my only daughters birthday. Her Dad was so happy to have a little girl because he came from a family of all boys. She has made us both proud of all her accomplishments and especially for the way she, along with Rich, take care of their family. Ann has so many ways about her that I admire. She helped with her brothers when I worked and they all love her very much. Have a great year Ann. You are a treasure and Dad and I keep you tucked in close to our hearts. Happy Birthday Kyle!

Kyle was 9 years old today. He is the second youngest Grandson. Kyle is a happy easy going boy. He reminds me a lot of his Dad when he was young. It is nice to have him and all the rest of the kids here. We miss Matt and the older kids. He really liked his gift and it was nice Norm and Sandy came over. Gifts for all. Have a good year Kyle, you are a special kid and we love you. You are tucked close to our hearts.

Pool fun!

The kids are having a lot of fun in the pool. I'm so glad Jim and Dennis got it up.

Summer in Paradise

Summer has finally come to Paradise. Jim, Kelly,Celeste and her friend Lorren came up and it has been beautiful. The kids have been in the lake and Kelly has been enjoying the sun and reading her books. Jim has helped Dad on some of his projects. They got the pool up and now they can be in the water right outside the doorwall. A cougar has been sighted down from Norms on the lake side and I feel better the kids are close to the house. Everyone is having fun and it is great to have them here. Celeste and her friend flashed Jims car with a No sign when Dennis, Kelly and Jim were coming home from the Falls. Dad got a good laugh out of it. They found it on the side of the road. Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Mike!

Today is Mikes Birthday. He is living out with Ann and Richs family in Virginia. He likes his job and enjoys being with them. He misses Tessa and the rest of us here but a good job is important. He is a good steady man. He has a warm heart like the rest of his brothers and sister. We love you Mike and hope this year brings you much happiness. Love Mom and Dad!

The last couple of days have been filled with birthdays. Rich and Grandma Miller celebrated on the 8th and Tom was the birthday guy yesterday the 9th. We also had a Wedding. Mikes friends Sara and Charles were married on Toms birthday. Rich is a great son-in-law. He makes my daughter happy and his girls dearly love him. He has always made us feel very welcome in his home and cared for. Grandma Miller turned 90. She tries to find things on sale for us so we get the best deal. She loves us all and we hope she continues to be as active as she is now. Tom is a great young man. He is sensitive to others feelings and loves his family. Dennis and I are so lucky to have him. I love to see him smile. Have a great year and know you are all loved and close to our hearts. My treasure chest is overflowing.

Today is my youngest Grandsons birthday. He is a happy active boy who loves adventure and is fearless. He enjoys riding his motorcycle, four wheeler and fishing. Today is my second to oldest grandsons birthday. Matt is the apple of his Dad's eye. Jen and Denny are so proud of their son. He has done very well in all his classes this year. Matt loves his new motorcycle and has been doing a lot of riding. We are proud of all your accomplishments. Stay on the right track. Your parents will guide you so you can succeed in all you do. Birthday s and a Anniversary

Today is Jen and Dennys 18th Wedding Anniversary. They are very devoted to making their sons life good and him a good man. He is lucky to have parents that are together working for the benefit of the whole family group. We love you both and congratulate you for making a loving home for your son. I was downstate and did not post the Birthdays for my sons Jim and Joe. They are two great men and we are so proud of them. They love their families and work hard to make their lives good. I see a little of my husband in each of them. We have been so fortunate to have children that make you so proud. All of you go forward and prosper. Don't be afraid to make the hard decisions. Someone guides us and I thank God for all of you.

Went Fishing

Today we went fishing on the Tahquamenon River. It was a beautiful day. We caught 7 clams, one stick and a Walleye. It was so relaxing fishing with the current pushing us down the river. Wish those clams and stick would have been walleyes. Had a lot of fun.

Today is my husbands Birthday. He is a good man and father. He has made me and the kids feel safe and taken care of. He worked hard and his biggest achievement is to have raised six great kids. I like this picture because you can see the young kids and the span of ages. He has loved us all. He is a quiet man and does things to let you know how special you are to him. Rainy Day

We are getting a good soaking rain. I slept in because of the relaxing sounds of the waves, gentle winds blowing through the trees and tapping of rain on the windows. I usually am up very early because I can't sleep and this was a welcome change. Norm and Dennis went to the Soo yesterday so I visited with Sandy and the kids--Jackie's little ones are having a good time-went to the Senior dinner and visited with my friends on Taco trail. He has a Mosquito Magnet and it works great. Scary to see how many it kills in a day. They also built a green house. Many people have one up here because of our short growing time. I'd really like one. Mike and Joanne have one and they really like it. They have the grocery store in town--great steaks. The young eagles have been watching my bird feeders so the squirrels and the birds are in hiding. We will be working inside today. We are so thankful for the rain--we need it to keep our forests safe. Have a good day! Walking in the rain is fun.

Dennis, you have been a very good Dad. You have worked hard and helped me raise 6 great kids. Your sons have gone on to be good Dads--they all love their kids and do the best for them as you did. Mike and Tom are still single but love their nieces and nephews and help with them when needed. Rich takes great pride in his girls and Ann has a good Dad for her family also. You are all so important. I'm so proud of you all. We come from a strong family group. It is a safe place to grow up in and know you are important and loved.
