Happy Birthday Miranda Rose!

Miranda is my youngest granddaughter. She is the reigning Princess at Joe and Alidas home. She is a beautiful, happy knows what she wants little girl. Today she turns 4 but you'd think she is older. She has everyone wrapped around her little finger. Her brothers look out for her even though she interrupts them when they are busy on the computer. Happy Birthday Miranda! You are a Jewel and you are tucked into our family treasure chest with much love. Learn, grow and have a good year.

Happy Birthday Clare!

Today is Clares 2nd birthday. She is a beautiful, happy little girl and is the princess of Jackie and Jeffs home. She along with her brother Nick are treasured. Jackie is here in Paradise for the week-end. She and the kids have been in the water and enjoying being with family. Jeff stayed home to hold down the fort and do some projects that are hard to do with little ones around. Enjoy the week-end and the beginning of summer. Have a good day today Clare--you are a sweety.

Little ones and a guest waiting for food

This morning I had the pleasure of seeing a family of geese. I don't usually see them as they seem to like it down by Norms better. The family was small for geese but maybe the eagles had something to do with that. My little pine squirrel was not happy as I had not refilled his feeder and he had to wait for me. The day is another beauty and we are enjoying it. The water should be a lot warmer than last year for the kids. It won't be long and they will be here for the summer. The house will be alive again with laughter and the sounds of kids just being kids.

Pretty birds and plants

It is a cloudy day in Paradise. The temperatures are warm but the wind off the lake is cold. I had an Indigo Bunting and a Yellow Finch couple at the feeders today. The bulk of the Bluejays have left so the little birds can get some food without being bullied by those bigger birds. Dennis hung my Topsy Turvy planters on the Bat Pole. I still have to fill my strawberry planter. I have the strawberry plants and will put them in this afternoon. We are going to unload the rest of the wood from the trailer so we can drop it off before my appointment in Newberry on Monday. We have 15 cords to go and we will be done for this year. . Have a good day and try and get outside.

Bat House is up!

Dennis finished putting up the Bat house this morning. Now, all we need are some bats. I was hoping to attract some because they eat so many mosquitoes. They are very particular about where they want to live. Alidas Dad made a great house for them and Dennis tried to place the house and pole in the best location and direction. We are open for business. Come on bats bring your friends.

Great Day

Today we had a beautiful sunrise and the big lake was like glass. I saw the fishing boat go out and soon Browns will be opened and we will be heading there for a great fish dinner. Dennis has the first of four loads of wood backed by the wood storage blocks. It always looks so huge when you first start stacking but it does go fast. The grandkids helped last year and those kids really can work. It makes us feel good to have a couple of years wood on hand to keep us warm through the winter months. We also are working on getting the bat house up. Dennis is sinking in the base and cementing it. We will be able to put the whole thing up by the middle of the week. Alidas Dad made it and Pierce and Kyle gave it to us for a Christmas gift. I'm glad it will be up so the bats will stay out of my big umbrella by the beach. It is a good day to be outside so that is where we will be. I think a ride to the falls is also in order. Life is good!

Visitors

Dennis and I were downstate to visit our kids and while we were gone we had two visitors. I love dogs and when I looked at my cam I had these two on it. I think they got out and went bumming as I have never saw them before. We love having this camera because we know what is happening at our place when we are gone. Have a good night.

Bluejays

We have a lot of Bluejays feeding at the feeders. Ben, one of our friends said they are filling up on food to continue their migration into Canada. They are eating machines. I think they are pretty but they are a mean bird and won't let the little ones in to eat. We also saw some wild pigs on our way to Newberry. I wanted Dennis to get a little one for me but he wasn't up to the chase. Pigs have a tendency to make a lot of poop when they are frightened as we learned from experience when we were raising them. It can be an ugly, smelly undertaking. You can shoot them if you have a hunting license. I could have had a pig for a pig roast during the Blueberry Festival. Oh well, I still have time to get one. I think alot of other people are thinking the same thing. Mmmmm! What a feast! It has been cloudy and spits of rain but nothing to wet the ground. Have a good night.

Happy Mothers Day!

Today is a day when we let our Moms know we love them and appreciate the things they do for us. My Mom is deceased but I still remember and thank her for just being her. Mothers are not perfect and our kids know more than anyone our imperfections just as we know theirs. It is a bond that is strong and you will always be your Mothers child even as you grow to be an old person. I am very happy to have six great kids and by their marriage have three daughters-in law and a son-in-law. They have given me nine grandchildren to watch grow up. I am a lucky woman. I love them all very much and they along with my good husband are my treasure. See the best in us and know that since you were conceived you were loved and watched over. Children are a gift that last all your life. Love to you all, Mom

Mower

We are taking a much needed mower to Davisburg when we go back. Norm was very generous in sending it to a new home and it will be used and appreciated. It can pull a wagon of wood, take up garbage cans and cut the lawn. I remember Louie Millers Oscar. Joe should watch for a snowblower to go on it. It is an older machine but those are the best. They don't make them as sturdy anymore. It will save hours of walking and I think Pierce will be happy to take a seat and mow the yard. Thank you Norm--Sandy too! My neighbor Mark thought we got it for our yard and came over and asked about our great expectations for a lawn with all the sand we have. We got a good laugh--Dennis loves the sand. It doesn't need to be cut but you can rake it if you want. We have a beach house and I think that's the way he plans on keeping it, less work. Have a good day and be kind to one another.

Strange Sights

You can see all different things out on the lake. You might think you see a ship and there is none. It is an illusion caused by the fog, heat or some other phenomenon. This looked like an oblong box but it is a ship. The views are always different and some unexpected sight make it for interesting watching. It is a beautiful day and we are enjoying a sunny day and the warmth from the sun. We do need rain and I'm hoping we get some soon. Have a great day!

Family

Today was Terries college graduation. We are all proud of her and the work it took to get the excellent grades she got. She went for a goal and now she is a nurse. I believe she will be a very good one. She got there with the help of her family and I am very proud of them also. Norm, Sandy and Ryan gave her the freedom to study and do the things she had to do to be such a good student. The support and love made her job a little easier. A family working together for the common good. Congradulations to all of you. Norm and Sandy took everyone out for dinner and we had a very good time. It was nice to see the smiling faces and the food was excellent. We were happy to be included in this day.
