Beautiful Morning!
The weather has quieted down and the sunrise was beautiful to behold. It was 36 degrees this morning and some places had a light frost. Looks like we will be forced to have a little fire tonight in the stove to keep the dampness from creeping in. We are getting ready to go to Newbury as we did not go this week-end. Dennis worked out in the garage and I worked in the house. The Can Man stopped by to thank us for donating some cans for the kids at the school--didn't expect that. He is a very nice man who loves the kids and found a way to help the school do things for them. It is amazing how much he has done. Hats off to him--he is a great asset to our town. Well, breakfast and then a ride. The week is starting off and I am sure we will enjoy it. Have a good day and say a kind word. It comes back tenfold.

Storm
We have been getting a lot of rain, high winds and lots of waves since last night. It was a great sleeping night. You felt so cozy tucked in bed. Our wind measuring device is broke but I can tell you the wind is kicking. The waves are rolling in and the big lake looks an angry grey. I want to take a ride and see what it looks like at the Point. No working outside today. We are going to Newbury to drop off the trailer for another load of wood and pick up a few things at the grocery store. We want to get at least one more load maybe two before winter. I wonder what that's going to bring? It seems like it is coming fast. Have a good day!!

Success!!!!
This years Blueberry Festival was a great success. All who came had a great time. We had 28 staying with us and 17 who came over to visit and enjoy the water and campfire. The food was excellent. Family and friends were much enjoyed. We had some fireworks for the kids and glowing necklaces so we could keep track of them in the dark. Everyone left for home relaxed but tired. The house is very quiet. Another good summer has passed. Jan was a great help to me and washed dishes while I cooked on Saturday. Ann and Rich made us a delicious barbecue. They did a dry crusted beef tenderlion and two venison roasts. Jim brought the venison and Rich and Ann the beef. It was very, very good. The young kids wanted hotdogs so everyone had a feast. Salmon was smoked in the smoker also. We had a lot of food and it was eaten with gusto. We are so lucky to have this group. We love them very much. My grandkids have gone home to get ready for school. We miss them and are glad they stayed with us. They are all good kids and were a welcome change to our lives. Now, we will start getting reay for winter. The leaves are starting to turn. Have a good day!!!

Blueberry Festival
This week-end is the Blueberry Festival in Paradise. All the kids are headed up. It should be alot of fun and family time. This is usually the start of our Fall weather and some of the leaves are turning. Summer has only shone itself the last two weeks. The Grandkids have been fun and the house has been alive with the noises kids make. It will be so quiet when they leave. Kyle, Dylan and Miranda have done well being away from home. They are young but no tears and have slept well. Terese Rose and Pierce have been a great help and have grown up alot. They have been the peacemakers and kept the little ones entertained. We will be watching for the kids to pull in the driveway and I will feel better when they all arrive safely. Have a good day!!
Happy Birthday Terrie!
Today is Terrie birthday. She is a college student starting her final year on her quest to be a nurse. She is much loved by her parents, husband and three sons. She works hard at her school work and is an outstanding student--she will make a great nurse. She strives for excellence in all she does. Have a good final year Terrie. Your goal is in easy reach. We are proud of you. We all love you.

The Circus!

We just got back from the Circus. It was a lot of fun. Most of the performers were young. It was very entertaining. The kids had fun but everything they sold was very expensive. Pony rides were 4 dollars. A snowcone was 3 dollars. I guess if you added up their expenses it wasn't so bad. I'd go again.

FUN!!
I was having a not so good day. Pain, sore joints yuk!!!! The kids wanted me to go in with them and after a lot of asking I went in. What joy!! The water made me feel light and I had a real feeling of relief. I laughed a lot and enjoyed the kids and the water. I floated and the warm water was a relief from the heat and my joints. The kids playing and laughing lifted my spirits and made me feel free of the things that were a down thing for me. I had a great afternoon and got out of the water ready for a good night and a restfull sleep. I thank God for my grankids and the joy they give me. I remember being a kid and enjoying the little things that make a kid happy and I am one of them again. I get more from them than they get from me. Living and enjoying life---the pleasures we forget but what are so important. Play in the sand, get dirty--be a child!!! Have a good night!!
Happy Birthday Aaron!
Yesterday was Aaron's birthday and I am behind again posting birthday greetings. My sisters granddaughters, Michele and Maggie's birthdays were missed also. Aaron is a happy, energetic boy with a big smile a at times a mischievous glint to the eye. He loves sports and being outdoors. He will be in 1st grade this year and I know he will do very well. Michele and Maggie are loved by their family and along with Aaron are part of the family treasure. We love them all and each is a special gift. Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Pierce!
Today is my oldest gransons birthday. He is a handsome young man. He is twelve this year and is looking forward to being a teenager next year. He has been a great help to us and I notice a big change in him since last year. He is more thoughtful of the younger kids and is starting to be a problem solver. He is a big help to his parents and looks out for his younger brother and sister. We love him and are very proud of him. He is tucked away in our family treasure chest of jewels.

5 cords done!

Today we finished stacking the 5 cords in the trailer. The kids were great! They are real good workers. It is with a sense of pride they showed their last piece of wood in the large trailer. We are very proud of them. The leaves are starting to turn. This is a bit early but we never really got a summer.

Fun and Work

The kids have had alot of fun and also did alot of work. Pierce worked at a steady pace and the older guys will have to look out for him in a couple of years. That boy can work. Rosie and Kyle lifted the lighter pieces and Dylan tried to find the biggest heavy logs to wrestle to the edge for Grandpa. They stacked a little over three facecords.
