COLD!!!!!!!!
Boy are we in the deepfreeze. It was -20 this morning. The guys were cooking bacon outside on the grill and their beer froze in 5 min. They are going to the casino today---hope luck is with them. It is a sunny day but it is having a hard time warming up. We are still in the negative numbers. The little birds are all fluffed up and eating like crazy. Spring seems so far away. Do something fun today--it's Saturday!

Snow
Well, it is very cold again and they say we got about 7 or 8 inches of snow. It is really hard to say for sure because the wind blew it all around and we have some good drifts in places. Greg, Mark and Terrie made it here ahead of the storm and are all sleeping snug in warm beds. Marks son is on spring break so he came up with them. We had a good time last night. Dennis and I have a class today in St. ignace so the guys will be on their own till we get back. We are going out for fish dinner tonight. Full day ahead. Have a good one.

Brothers Coming!
Mark and Greg are coming up today. They make this trip once a month and we are very glad to see them. I hope they beat the storm we are supposed to have arriving tonight. My brother is leaving for downstate and Dennis are coming up. The guys plan to go to the casino but if they don't they just work outside and enjoy each others company. Dennis looks forward to these visits. We have our class in St. Ignace tomarrow for the Board of Review training. That will take up most of the day. Greg and Mark will be on their own and weather permitting will do some exploring of the area. There is always something to do or just relax and watch the birds and little animals out the window. We are going in to Newbury to get some supplys. It is such a pretty ride. Have a good day!

Snow Coming
Cloudy morning. It looks like snow will be moving in. Dennis and the guys are taking down the town decorations today and we will be taking them back on Monday if the weather permits. The wind is picking up so the faster they get done the better. The weeks have been so busy. We have about another two and a half months of winter and I don't know how long the snow banks will last into April. I'm starting some herbs from seed and want to start a herb garden outside when the weather permits. I have some planted outside now but will have to see if they survived the winter. Have a good day!

Sad
We are very sorry to hear that Ryans Dad passed away yesterday. It was even harder because it was on his birthday. We send our love and hope you can find comfort in knowing he is in a better place. He really is just down the road a little ahead of us all. God bless.
Morning!
Easter egg hues in the sky. The sun is preparing to rise. Every sunrise is a surprize and is different. It was a very cold night but that also brought bright stars in a very black sky. I always hope to see the northern lights and check the sky whenever I get up. What will today bring? I hope nothing we can't handle and peace of mind. Go live it. I will.

Happy Birthday Ryan!
Happy Birthday Ryan! We are all proud of you. Terrie and the kids have a very caring husband and Dad. Go after your dreams--you are never to OLD! It is a beautiful morning. The sky is a red with a purple cast. The sun is about to make it's debut. I love the mornings because regardless of what happened the day before you have a new chance to make this day a better one. Give me sunrises! It is a cold monday--reading zero on the thermometer. We have had a lot of very cold days this year and we have started on the last woodpile. We have a lot of other wood but this is the last of what we planned for this year. The spring will start our gathering for two years down the road. Working outside makes us feel better. I'm looking forward to some serious fishing and getting in a small garden--if it gets warm enough up here this year. I have been watching my little fox sneaking around and checking out the tunnels the red squirrel has made from birdfeeder to feeder. He sure is pretty with his winter coat and big bushy tail. He is a silver color with white and black trim. He seems bigger than the red foxes. Enjoy the day!

A Full Week-end
We have about another inch of new snow this morning. We have had one man die on the trails this week-end. It was a sad ending to what was to be a fun time. I feel sorry for all involved. Some will suffer from the memory till they die. God bless. Norm, Sandy, Dennis and I went to an antique snowmobile show in Naubinway yesterday. I think there were over or almost one hundred sleds there. It was a lot of fun to see how they progresses over the years. The town was not large but everyone was friendly and they had a lot to see. We will be going back. We stopped in Hulbert to eat at Shirley's bar and restaurant. It was full of snowmobilers--friendly people and you could see a lot of deer out the windows. We will be taking the grandkids there this summer. It is a place you should see. This is the last day for the Mari Gras De Snow in Paradise. The town was full and people were having fun. Good for our town! The week-end was perfect. I just want to say for all the people that were here we had one, I guess I'll call him a trespasser- come up our wooden steps from the beach on to our posted and snow fenced off property. It is people like him that cause people to close land for snowmobile use. What a JERK!

Pretty Start
The sunrise this morning was a pretty one. We did not get any new snow. Town is full of snowmobilers and that makes us happy. It is a perfect week-end and as long as people ride safely they should have a great time. The coyote was out on the ice looking for a meal and the birds are coming in for breakfast. We might go to the old snowmobile festival the other side of Newberry. It would be a good day to get out. Enjoy the day!

Moonscape
The sun is out and there is a very blue sky. We got between 5to 6 inches of new snow and the wind has made drifts. It looks like a moon landscape and is very pretty. We should have a great week-end for the festival. The snowmobilers are going to have to get out early to get in front of the snowstorm coming in towards the lower half of the state. They have had way more snow down there this year. I think it was the fourth greatest amount since they have been recording. It may be more sice that was a few snowfalls ago. We will have a great day--hope you do to. Come on up! You won' regret it.

Cold and Snow
It is a lot colder this morning--6 degrees. We got about 4 to 5 inches of new snow overnight. It may be a little more than that but I am sure to say 4 to 5. The birds are coming in by the flocks. I really love to watch them. The Mardi Gras De Snow week-end should be great as long as people can afford to come. The trails are beautiful and well groomed. The guys have been working hard to keep them in great shape. We are supposed to get a lot more snow so let it fall! Time to get another cup of coffee and throw some more seed out on the porch. Have a good day--Smile, you'll feel better.

Winter Blast
We got up to about 6 to 7 inches of new snow. It is snowing pretty good now. The snowflakes are pretty good size and our winter wonderland is back in all it's glory. We are suposed to get at least 6 or more inches so the big snowmobiling week-end coming up should be great. The birds are flocking to the feeders--thanks Norm and Sandy for bringing me a new bag of sunflower seeds while I was gone. My poor birds would have had to do without and I really enjoy watching them.

HOME!!!!!
We are HOME!!!! I love to see the kids and grandkids but Paradise is my home. We put on almost 2000 miles since we left. It was a great trip and we had a lot of fun. We both were so happy to pull in the driveway. Norm had everything done and our mail on the table. Sandy waters my plantes and fills my feeders. Norm does the heavy work. Thanks for all the work you guys do for our benefit. We appreciate your time. Have a good sleep! We will. Love and sweet dreams to all.

Happy Birthday Alida!
Today is Valentines Day and also Alidas birthday. We sure are glad you were born because my son would not have such a great wife and I wouldn't have my good looking grandkids. You are a treasure Alida and we appreciate all the things you do. We wish you a great year and all good things--you deserve them. Love from us!

Young things
It is another nice day here. I was reading John Dees journal and he has pictures of the two lab puppies he is getting. They are so cute. All young things have the ability to touch your heart and make you want to protect them. I can't see how anyone could do harm to them. Ann and Rich will be home tomarrow and Terese Rose can hardly wait. We should be heading home on Thursday morning. I can't believe all the snow we have lost in Paradise. The snowmachine has to get working again so we can have our festival week-end and bring some money into our town. The snowmobiling still should be good but fresh snow makes it better. We want winter weather as long as it's winter---cold, snow! snow! snow!

Wow!
It is 62 degrees here in Virginia! This is the first day above 25 degrees. This is the temperature we were planning on. I see Paradise is a lot warmer too but I'm hoping that is not going to last as we have a big week-end coming on the 20th and we need lots of snow and cold weather. We are after all a lot like Alaska--that's what I think- and need the cold and snow for our playground. Jim and Jeff put on over 128 miles yesterday and I'm thinking they have maybe doubled that today. The trails are great and everywhere you look is a new beautiful sight for your eyes. Hope everyone is having a good time. We are having a cook-out on the deck and enjoying the warm weather but we will be more than happy to be home and sit by the fire. All places have there good points but Paradise for us is the place we love to call home. Have a good day!

Snowmobiling
Jim and Jeff arrived yesterday and will be snowmobiling for a few days. They said there are snowmobilers in town and that is always a welcome sight. He has the woodstove going and that is saving us big bucks. It is good to see him up there having fun. He is a hard worker and needs a rest. Jeff is a long time childhood friend. They will have a good time and ride those great trails we have in Paradise and surrounding areas. Jim said Norm had the drive and walkways all clear of that 8 plus inches of snow. Norm has a big plow job at his place and we really appreciate the time and freezing body it took to do ours also. Many thanks Norm! It is sunny and a little warmer here--hope it keeps up! Have a good day!

February
Good morning! January was one COLD month and February is starting out to be the same way. What happened to the January thaw? We are in Virginia staying with our grandkids that live there. Ann and Rich are on a 20th anniversary honeymoon. We thought it would be a lot warmer here but due to global warming it is in the low 20's. They are saying it should be in the high 50's Saturday but I'm not holding my breath. Have a great day and try and stay warm--miss my wood stove!
