I haven't updated my blog in a long time. Christmas is over and it was a very good one. We were all together and everyone was happy. The gifts were over the top and Dennis and I really appreciate the generosity and thoughtfulness. Tom with the help of his brothers made a lighthouse to grace my yard up in Paradise. I'm having trouble deciding where to put it. I'd like to put it in the front but I could see it and enjoy it more by the water. The kids pitched in and got us both Tablets. So handy and great to have. Dennis sits in his comfy chair by the fire and uses it every day. It has a permanent home right next to the TV clicker. Mine is not far away from me. It goes with my phone and camera everywhere I do. LOVE It! I was speechless. Ann and Denny got new handguns. Ann called hers Ralphy. I don't know if Jen and Denny are naming theirs but I have to get some pictures of them. Rich really surprised Ann and we could see how pleased he was. Kelly was very happy with her Kindle Fire which Jim surprised her with. Alida liked all her things and the guys sat back and smiled. Tessa and Mike are just happy being a young engaged couple. What a Christmas!

We have so much to be thankful for. My niece and her family have a healthy newborn son. He is the fourth of four boys. His brothers are so proud to have another brother but a little girl would be welcomed with the same joy. My kids, we were all together but Becca and Sara stayed home to watch the pets and have a great dinner with their friends. Becca is a great cook and Sarah taste tests and so I know the meal was a success. It was so nice to see everyone and the grandkids are growing by leaps and bounds. I always cry when they leave. I do, but it is tears that I feel for the times when my kids were little. Those were the best time of our lives. When you are so busy you don't realize how empty it is when they are gone. We are proud of the men and woman they have become and our kids by marriage and the best. So lucky are we to have them all. We are blessed. Thank you! Tessa, we are so proud of you and all you have accomplished. We can see why Mike loves you and so do we. See you all at Christmas!!

I know this is a late post but here it is. Pierce turned 14 this year. He is starting the hard years of a young person. So many things going on, trying to navigate the road to being a young adult and still at times feeling like a kid. He has been such a help to Dennis and I. Terese and Pierce have been very good to the younger kids. I hope this year brings him new friends and he enjoys his venture into High School. We are proud of you Pierce. Rock Hounds

Today we went to the North Shore. We found lots of great rock, cool breezes and waves to jump in. We had a lot of fun. We also went by the ladies home--they are both deceased and it looks so lonely and deserted. We also saw these trees of wine bottles at a new home build. I thought they looked good. Ann would like them. Save us those brightly colored wine bottles and we can make some. Have a day as good as ours!

Today Terese is 13. Where did the time go? She is a smart, pretty young woman. I enjoy talking with her. She is a lot of help to me and looks after Miranda. Today is my only daughters birthday. Her Dad was so happy to have a little girl because he came from a family of all boys. She has made us both proud of all her accomplishments and especially for the way she, along with Rich, take care of their family. Ann has so many ways about her that I admire. Summer in Paradise

Summer has finally come to Paradise. Jim, Kelly,Celeste and her friend Lorren came up and it has been beautiful. The kids have been in the lake and Kelly has been enjoying the sun and reading her books. Jim has helped Dad on some of his projects. They got the pool up and now they can be in the water right outside the doorwall. A cougar has been sighted down from Norms on the lake side and I feel better the kids are close to the house. Everyone is having fun and it is great to have them here. Celeste and her friend flashed Jims car with a No sign when Dennis, Kelly and Jim were coming home from the Falls. Dad got a good laugh out of it. They found it on the side of the road. Have a great day!

The last couple of days have been filled with birthdays. Rich and Grandma Miller celebrated on the 8th and Tom was the birthday guy yesterday the 9th. We also had a Wedding. Mikes friends Sara and Charles were married on Toms birthday. Rich is a great son-in-law. He makes my daughter happy and his girls dearly love him. He has always made us feel very welcome in his home and cared for. Grandma Miller turned 90. She tries to find things on sale for us so we get the best deal. She loves us all and we hope she continues to be as active as she is now. Tom is a great young man. He is sensitive to others feelings and loves his family. Dennis and I are so lucky to have him. Went Fishing

Today we went fishing on the Tahquamenon River. It was a beautiful day. We caught 7 clams, one stick and a Walleye. It was so relaxing fishing with the current pushing us down the river. Wish those clams and stick would have been walleyes. Had a lot of fun.

Rainy Day

We are getting a good soaking rain. I slept in because of the relaxing sounds of the waves, gentle winds blowing through the trees and tapping of rain on the windows. I usually am up very early because I can't sleep and this was a welcome change. Norm and Dennis went to the Soo yesterday so I visited with Sandy and the kids--Jackie's little ones are having a good time-went to the Senior dinner and visited with my friends on Taco trail. He has a Mosquito Magnet and it works great. Scary to see how many it kills in a day. They also built a green house. Many people have one up here because of our short growing time. I'd really like one. Mike and Joanne have one and they really like it. They have the grocery store in town--great steaks. The young eagles have been watching my bird feeders so the squirrels and the birds are in hiding. We will be working inside today. We are so thankful for the rain--we need it to keep our forests safe. Have a good day! Walking in the rain is fun.

I found a parrot at a garage sale. It doesn't poop, need food or water and when you are done playing with him you just turn him off. Dennis thinks this is the best kind of pet. Miranda loves him. She dances with him and loves to make him talk.

Went for a Ride

Today we took off and took a ride to see the kids. There was a High Wind warning on the bridge and escorts were in place. The waves were really rolling. I'm sure glad we weren't pulling anything as the wind was pushing the truck and it is not small. The ferry was running to and from the Island and larger boats and ships were cruising through the waves. Have a good night--pleasant dreams only.

Lightning

Lightning hit a pine tree by my friends, Jan and Bills home. It shredded the tree and blew the top off it--left only 12 ft. standing and the rest shredded over a 150ft. area. It blew the wire right out of the phone box outside and blew the cover off the main box at the road. Was a sight to see. There was dirt blown out at the base of the tree also. The power of lightning is a thing to behold. I'm so glad it was early in the morning and they were not outside. It could have been a tragedy.

Yesterday and today has been foggy. The ships are calling and telling all other ships of their whereabouts. We walked the beach and enjoyed the sounds of the foghorns, birds and water lapping on the shores. It is warmer today but your skin feels moist from the rolling fog. Steam room without the heat.

Fishing

We got up and went fishing this morning with our friends Jan and Bill. They have a real nice home on the Tahquamenon River. I really loved going on the pontoon boat. It rained a little but later it was cool and a lot of fun. A few fish were caught but no keepers. They are fun to do things with and a nice time was had by all.

We got home from our visit in Davisburg and saw the family and Dennis Mom. Everyone is doing well and the kids are growing fast. We missed Ann, Rich, Becca, Sarah, Terese and Mike--Tessa too. I really enjoyed watching the chickens and baby chicks. They make you laugh at their antics. They have alot of different birds down there and I got some pictures of some of them. Norm and Sandy brought us a loaf of bread from a bakery in Petoskey. Mmmmmm! Sounds like it's time for bread, butter and a cup of hot coffee. I sure like my necklace Mike. Thank you! It goes with my bracelet.

A day on the little farm

Today we went to check on Jims progress in finishing his basement. It is looking very good. Movie room, nice bathroom, new laundry room and a large bedroom. He also is making a big storage area. We then went to a Estate sale and found little things we needed for all of 3.50. Alidas Dad made me a bird house to go with our trailer and I hung it right up. I really like it. I think they would sell at the Blueberry festival. We helped Steve load a couple of cows for the butcher and cleaned out the chick pen. They are really growing fast. Alida got some of those eggs from the chocolate chickens and they really are as dark as chocolate. Miranda thought they were and wanted to take a bite. She really would have been unhappy with the taste of them.. It was a real nice day with lots to do. Have a good night.

Spring

Davisburg has been trying to enter into a Spring time weather situation. It has been cold, rainy and totally not Spring. The chickens have been happy to have the snow leave but Jim and his neighbor have robins hiding in their garages from the cold. The chicks have been moved to the barn and are doing well. Spring should be here soon but I think the summer will be cool especially up north. I guess we will wait and see.

Easter

Today was Easter Sunday. All the kids were here except Ann, Rich, Mike and my three sweet Granddaughters. It was a very nice day and we spent a lot of time outside. The boys shot the guns, bee bee guns, rode the four wheeler and Matts new dirt bike. We saw a good sized Blue Racer. It was up in a pine tree. It was a pleasant day.

Today we worked outside cutting down trees and burning brush. Dylan stayed overnight and had a great time working with all the kids and us. All the trees fell exactly where they should have and now I can relax.

Ghosts

Norm and Sandy came over today to try and help us get the Direct TV working. No luck! He did fix my computer screen so it was not so dark and got the TV app. on Dennis phone. It is still snowing and blowing. They told us about two ships anchored out front but we didn't see them as they were blotted out by the snow coming down. They looked like Ghost ships when they did appear out of the white veil. The one ship looks like one of the thousand footers. Thank you for trying to help us on this blustery day. I appreciate the effort and love the way I can see my screen better. Have a good night.

Yesterday we were without power for about eight hours. Norm and Sandy had us over for coffee and to see the work being done to the house. They had two real nice closets put in and a door taken out in the sunroom. It looks great. You would not even guess there had been a door there. Dennis took me to the Point to see if the waves were as big there as in the Bay. We had the biggest waves right out in front. That is unusual. I got up this morning to snow covered ground. Thought it was late October instead of the middle of April. It was so pretty though. Birds are gathering at the feeders in record numbers because of the heavy snow and ice covering their natural food. Looks like a nice day coming.

Took a Ride

Dennis took me for a ride up to the Point. There were about 10 cars up there and people were enjoying the warmer weather and walking the beach. The huge ice mounds are calving like the glaciers. Big sections fall into the water with a splash and spray covering the mounds left behind. The wind was brisk and you needed a warm jacket. We saw one ship sailing toward the Bay which is still choked with ice in spots. A pair of geese were out front when we got home. I really enjoy seeing the animals and birds. We are off to a auction this morning and then to the Soo. Hope everyone can get outside and enjoy the Spring air. I had to add another picture of the round ice. It always amazes me--looks like white pancakes floating on the water. Enjoy your day!

Icy Passage

We are still hearing the ships talk of ice and of following in three tracks through it. The ice is still clinging to the shore for about 200 ft. out. You can hear it cracking and pieces falling into open areas of water. Spring is trying but slow to arrive in the U.P. The signs are out there-the cranes are back, robin, ducks and geese arriving but the temperatures are still down. I took down the snow fence yesterday hoping that Old Man Winter would get the hint and rest till he comes back in Oct. Have a good week-end.

Nasty Day

I have no use for a day like today. It is a day to sit by the fire, read a good book or make cookies. It rains, freezing at times, to make for a cold damp day. I guess days like this make you appreciate the sunny days. It's a Monday and this kind of fits with the way people feel having to go back to work after the week-end. Tomorrow is another day.

Outing with Norm and Sass

We went to the Soo yesterday with Norm and Sass. She is going downstate for a visit with Jackie, the grandkids and Norm and Dominique. We went out to eat and enjoyed watching the ships on the St. Marys River. The ships on the Bay and Lake are still fighting ice. The Pileated Woodpecker has been tearing apart a stump out front and it is amazing how much wood flies when he is at work. The sun came up and hopefully it's rays will continue to melt the ice even with the temperature on the cool side. Looks like a nice day for Sandy to take a drive. I know Jackie and the kids can hardly wait to see her. Have a good day. I'm so glad Mike made it home to see everyone. Like they say "there is no place like home". Especially when Tessa is there.

April Fools Day!

The first of April brings with it a yearning for warmer weather, new life, and maybe hope for better things in all our lives. The winter seems long after February and I look forward to planting my little garden, taking walks on the beach and watching the antics of the chippys and squirrels. The ducks are back out front fishing every morning and evening and that surely is a sign of warmer weather. The Grandkids will be here for the summer and bring laughter and life to the house. There is so much to look forward to. Enjoy the new season and have a good week-end. Spring is slowly inching it's way in. The little dots in the one picture are the ducks. Week End Fun

Saturday we went to Tahquamenon Falls Park to see the Maple Sugar making. It was a lot of fun and real interesting. The Native Americans made it, maple sugar, in a Ironwood Log by putting hot rocks in the sap drawn out of the tree. It evaporated the water out of it leaving the syrup. It takes 40 gallons to make 1 gallon of syrup so please don't complain about the price you pay. It is very time consuming. That was on Saturday. Norm and Sandy took us to the Soo and treated us to lunch at the West Pier hamburger place. It was so good. If you are in the Soo, please go there you will not be sorry. We took our meal as a take out and ate it by the little park by the Sugar Island Ferry. We saw a thousand foot freighter come through. What a great day. I am so glad my brother is home.

It is a cold morning for Kellys Birthday. She is a loving Mom to Dylan and Celeste and wife to Jim. She looks after her Grandma and Grandpa and works hard along with Jim to make a good life for them all. She still misses her Mom who was taken to soon. I think that is what made her the person she is. She knows how much we have to appreciate the people that are around us. Sad to Smiles

I was in tears today because my camera would not work. My kids got it for me and I really love to use it. Dennis took it, looked on line for trouble shooting and then did what he thought would work. He took it to the garage and blew out the camera and like magic he got it to work. He said some dirt or some sand got into the mechanism and it wouldn't start up. He is great. I think he can fix almost anything. I was so happy. We saw two ships out on the Bay. Now I can use my camera again and it didn't cost anything but his time which I really appreciate. He really tries to make my life good--that's my man. Have a good day!

First Day of Spring

Yesterday was the first day of spring and it was a pleasant day till the evening when huge snow flakes started falling and the wind howled. We didn't get a lot of snow but it was the very heavy wet type. Birds and animals are out looking for food. Yesterday I took some pictures down on the beach that tells you spring is trying to come to Paradise. In some places the sand has dropped about eighteen inches in big circular forms. What made that happen I don't know but it was strange. I liked yesterday better but the beauty of the trees heavy with snow and the fresh look to the landscape makes up for another taste of winter. Enjoy the week.

It was a beautiful day today starting with the morning sunrise. It was 39.4 degrees today with a lot of sun. This evening my little birds scattered and when I looked to see what the problem was there he was sitting high on a dead tree surveying his kingdom. Out on the Ice

The coyotes run the ice a lot in the winter. It is a safer way for them to travel and the sun warms them during the day bouncing off the ice ridges where they can hide from our eyes. I admire the things they have learned to survive. They will play dead to get a crow to come down and think it's getting a meal and end up one itself. The survival of the smartest is there for you to watch. Have a good Sunday, I think we will be out for a walk.

Let the Sun Shine

It is a beautiful day in Paradise. We went out to walk the beach by the Point. The wind had a bite to it but the sun on your back felt warm. The ice mounds have gone down a little but it is still pretty. The fishing boats are almost free of ice so they will be heading out as soon as they safely can. It feels good to get out and walk. Spring is not to far away and if it is not going to snow let Spring begin.

The coyote couple were moving fast across the ice trying to get to a place to rest for the day. We are headed to the Soo and will stop on the way home to have a great meal of King Crab and Whitefish at the Bay Mills Casino in Brimley. What a lot of fun in store for us. I love to go down Curly Lewis Highway--so pretty. We will be out and about enjoying a warmer day. Last night it was 7 degrees and it is supposed to hit low 30's today. It is a regular heat wave. Just got in from clearing drive and getting wood. Dennis said "would you like a glass of wine". Sure I would. I can see me sitting in my comfy chair by the fire wine glass in hand--sounds good. Dennis uncorks one of our great Virginia wines and catastrophe the cork is all nasty. Ugh!!! Oh well, down to the basement to get another bottle and see what we can find. I guess we don't drink it fast enough, I have to remember that--good excuse! New bottle, filled glass and there we are enjoying the rest of the evening.

Well, we got a little more snow. You could hear the hum of snowmobiles late into the night. It is a welcome sound because you know the people who have a business are finally making some money. The wind is blowing and moving the snow from the front to the back. Stopped by Sandy and Norms and saw that she really does a great job using the tractor to move the snow. She is a treasure. She keeps her home warm, cleared of snow and full of smiles. My brother is a lucky man. We were going to go to the dog sled races but thought better of it. Tires need to be replaced and with the new snow and being back off the main road it wasn't to smart to go. We are holding out till spring on buying the tires to get the most wear out of the ones we have. Have the money but just don't want to part with it yet. Lots to do outside today so I know it will be a good one. Enjoy the week-end.

Whitefish Point

Dennis took me for a ride to the Point. I am very sad about the lack of snow. We have been very cold and that is what saved the little snow we have. We were 120 inches down from normal last year and 150 down this year. The Bay has opened up again. Looks like this year is another easy one for us. Some years Dennis was going out 2 and 3 times a day to clear the snow. Mother Nature gives what she wants when she wants--we can't control everything. The week-end is coming--enjoy!

Today we went to the falls for a walk. It was cold and clear. It was so beautiful. There are so many things to see. They are having a lot of fun things to do there for us to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. I thought the tree rings were very interesting. The trees around you tell a story of the years long before we were here. They were here and growing. Makes you feel like your place in this world takes up so little space. Have a good night.

The frigid cold has set in. Eleven degrees for our high and going below zero tonight. We have no new snow just a very light dusting. We are thirteen inches shorter of the white stuff than last year and the was bad. The Bay is closing up. You can see the island between Canada and us in one of the pictures. We got in two loads of wood so we don't have to venture out in the bitter cold that is supposed to be here for the next week. It is so nice to sit by the fire and soak up the heat. Love my wood stove. Another Monday is coming. Have a good week and Please Mother Nature give us all the snow.

Happy Birthday Sandy! Yesterday was Sandys birthday. She is another one of my treasures. My brother is a lucky man to have such a good woman at his side. Life is so much easier when you have a partner who loves you. It got to 3 degrees at the lowest I saw as I got up through the night. It seems it always dips just before the dawn. The birds are flocking in and I still have plenty of seed for them. I enjoy them and love watching them pester each other for the best seat at the birdfeeder. It is sunny today which lifts all creatures spirits. The ice is piling up and the mounds are getting higher. Maybe we will take a ride to the Falls or the Point. It is always nice to get outside. Chair, Blanket and a Good Book

It is a cloudy snowy day and I think all three of these things are calling to me. It is so nice to sit by the fire and read and look out the window with a good book in hand. Dennis is looking forward to watching the football games so after we get the snow moved outside we will have a nice relaxing Saturday. We might take a ride to the Point to see what that looks like. We went out for dinner to the falls last night with Norm and Sandy. It was great. We sat by the fireplace and enjoyed the atmosphere. They picked us up in their new crossover Traverse. I have been seeing a lot of ships passing today. The locks close in the 15th of January so they are trying to get all the goods they can to where they need to go before that happens. Winter Friends

We got about three inches of snow yesterday and a dusting over night. The birds and animals are out scouting a meal. You never know what you will see. I am not fast enough to get a picture of the little weasel but I'm trying. Sometimes I wish we were in the deep woods so I would see more wild things but the beauty of the lake makes me very happy to be here. The eagle glides over the feeders and everything scatters. It really helped putting up the pine trees so they have a place to hide. The birds really like my new feeder and I have lots of seed to fill all of them. Enjoy your day!

Yesterday morning it was a warm 38 degrees. This morning it was 7. What a switch. Dennis got all the work done on the truck--new door handle, fuel filter and an oil change. He had to raise the guides on the snow blower because we lost our base and he would be taking all the dirt when we get more snow. I'm sure glad that was finished yesterday because today is not a day to work on things like that. The birds are making short work of the suet and The feeders are full. It is a good day to read by the fire and relax. I leave the Christmas tree up till the second week in January--it looks so pretty I hate to take it down. Christmas always seems to come and go so fast. Enjoy your day! Stay warm.

This is the first coyote I saw this year. They are starting to use the ice for traveling at the edge of the Bay. He has a nice thick coat. He came in after 8 this morning and I was surprised to see him. I hope he stays away from peoples small dogs and cats. Watch out and don't let them out alone. He feels that a meal is a meal. I love to see the wild things. The crows were angry because he ate the bread I had just put out for them. They were squawking and scolding but he held his ground and finished it all. I put some out for them after he left and all was right with their world. It is 15 degrees and a light dusting of snow makes everything fresh. I see one ship anchored out front but there might be more I can't see. Have a great day--stay warm!

Well the wind has been whistling around the house and in the trees. We have drifts two to three ft. high but I can't tell you have much actual snow because of all the wind. It is still snowing. Dennis and I have been out clearing it but I know we will be out again before the night is through. We didn't get the BIG storm but this is good enough for us. Stay warm and safe.

Got to zero just before daybreak. The steam off the lake is making a billowing haze that moves across the Bay. It looks cold, it is cold. The birds are flocking to the suet and the feeders are seeing many different kids of birds. I finally had some red grosbeaks pay a visit. The squirrels are enjoying the sunflower seeds and nuts I put out on the porch for them. My little fox came in for his nightly treat under the pines. I put out only enough for him--don't want the coyotes hanging around. I have to get out my Christmas cards and finish decorating the tree. Time passes so quickly. Stay warm. We have another storm coming in so batten down the hatches!

Cold Monday

The wind is blowing, snow falling and a ship safely tucked into the Bay waiting for Superior to calm down. It's Monday and a new week is beginning. We took a ride to Marquette yesterday to look at a plow for the Jeep. The guy is going to give Dennis a price on the whole Jeep to scavenge for parts for ours. They were getting a good bit of snow and on the way home it was hard to see at times. Old eyes don't see as well as young ones. We saw a truck that smashed his whole front and side hitting a guard rail--going to fast. He was fine but that truck was a mess. I am so glad Dennis is such a good driver, snow and ice on the road scares me. I was glad to see my little town and get in and sit by the stove. Have a great week!

Winter is trying to get a good foothold in the Upper. The snow is settling and real cold is making the Bay thick like jello. The circle ice is forming at the shore and Mother Earth is getting ready to rest under a blanket of snow. The fire is burning hot and it is cozy. The keurig is keeping my coffee cup full. Craft Show and Good Company

Yesterday we went to the Soo Craft show. Norm and Sandy went with us and we had a good time. I'm sure the guys would have enjoyed a Gun or Tractor show better but they were good sports about our looking at everything. It was a nice show but I thought the Brimley one had them all topped. We have a show in Paradise Saturday after Thanksgiving and it is a very nice one for our small town. Norm and Sandy treated us to a very good meal at Applebees. It was so nice to have my brother home and Sandy is smiling a lot too. We all missed him when he was away at work. The wind is really gusting here and makes a whistling noise as it swirls around the house and garage. I'm hoping we don't get freezing rain as it makes for bad roads for those that have to make it to work in the morning. Dennis is looking forward to watching the football games. The front is all free of downed trees and branches. It looks like we have much more room. I have one picture of the first snow of the winter. After that cold spell we were enjoying high 40 to mid 50 degree days. It looks like we will be going more towards the other way with colder weather and snow showers. We are ready. Sandy and I went out for my birthday and she treated me to a great lunch at Applebees. I have never been there and the food was very good. You had so many things to choose from.. We both found some clothes that we liked and it was a very good day. Today is the Christmas craft show in Pickford so we will be going there to see what they have. The show in Brimley was great. I went outside the other morning and saw some big prints. What were these? I figured they were from some kind of canine. Was it a wolf? We came from a trip to town and a big dark colored dog came bounding up to us--wiggling and very friendly. I looked at his feet and the tracks and knew I had nothing to fear. Dennis is still clearing the trees that fell in the past wind storm. We have hauled the brush to the dump and have about 2 loads left. It sure looks different. Oh yes, the snow fence is up too. Storm Over

That was some storm we had. The wind was terrific and many people lost power. We are lucky to have ours back on because as of yesterday afternoon many in our area still are going without. Spoiled food, chilly homes see to plague many. The men finally got out to tend their nets. Freighters were parked out front--5 in all at one time. They came in after the storm subsided as our Bay was no safe haven because of the direction of the winds. We are hauling some downed trees to the dump today and finishing the snow fence. 45 Years

Dennis and I are celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary. We have grown old together and have many good things come to us. We have the gift of good children and grandchildren. Stuffing Sausage and the Big Ships

Dennis and I had a great time stuffing sausage. We have all our meat processed and in the freezer. We ended up with about 55 lbs. total of deer for stew, sausage, hamburgs etc. Dennis really had a good time mixing different blends of meats. The big ships are sitting out front. The last day for shipping is January 15th and I always miss seeing them and their lights. I love being on Whitefish Bay and watching them. Have a good day. They are saying we might get some snow showers tonight. I hope the sky is clear because meteor showers are supposed to be seen tonight and till the early morning. Pumpkin Patch and Beaytiful Plant

We went down to Davisburg for a week and while we were there we went with Miranda to the Pumpkin Patch with her class. She was so excited and was Grandpas shadow all day. It was a nice day and we all had fun. Terese Rose won a plant at the Blueberry Festival and left it with me. It is blooming it's heart out and very pretty. Thank you Terese. Aunt Sandy took very good care of it while I was gone. My plants would suffer without her attention. I'm lucky to have her help. It is a beautiful day here--cool but sunny. Enjoy your day too!

We went back to visit the kids in Davisburg and Grand Blanc. Mike was home from Virginia so we got to see him also. Paco had made a great set of steps from the patio to the lower part of the landscape. He did such a great job. Fishermen

The men were out tending their nets this morning. I wish my son Dennis could be out there. He spent a good part of his early life fishing with his friend David and later just fishing for Bass. He got very good at finding and catching them. Jim also has a love for fishing but they work hard and do not get out much. I love to be out on the water and feel the sun warm on you. The tug of a line brings an exciting jump to your heart wondering what is on it below the water. It is one of the good things in life.
